Our task is to manage the national network of railway lines whose length currently covers more than 19 thousand kilometres. We also manage and synchronise the operation of about 6.5 thousand passenger and freight trains owned by 74 licensed carriers. Another responsibility of the company is to prepare and update the train schedule for the entire country.
In recent years, investment activity has been a priority of PKP PLK, including the construction, modernisation and revitalisation of railway infrastructure. The main objective of the implemented projects is to improve the accessibility and quality of railway transport, as well as to adjust the network to the EU standards and launch an integrated railway transport system within the European Union. All activities are carried out with particular care for the natural environment in accordance with the provisions of the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment, which is also the main source of funding for these projects.
The company has been developing its strategy in compliance with governmental strategic documents, the EU transport policies, obligations arising from international agreements concluded by the Polish Government, EU and national legislation, and taking into account the company’s needs resulting from current operations as well as business and market conditions.

We provide freight forwarding and traction services; offer the handling and storage of goods at our own facilities, and full service of railway sidetracks and repairs of rolling stock.
The PKP CARGO Logistics Group owns 2,500 locomotives and about 63.5 thousand carriages, which makes the company the leader of the rail transport sector.

We specialise in domestic and international long-distance passenger transport. PKP Intercity trains mainly connect large cities and transfer passengers to popular tourist destinations. The company also enables comfortable journeys to European metropolises.
More than 300 trains under the livery of our company are operated daily. The company runs trains in the Express InterCity (EIC) category, offering a high standard of travel, as well as TLK (Twoje Linie Kolejowe) trains which are intended to provide passengers with maximum satisfaction at a minimal price. In 2012, more than 35 million passengers used our services.
Come December 2014, we are planning to launch another brand - EIC Premium which will operate 20 multiple units based on the construction of ETR 610 trains manufactured by Alstom.
PKP Informatyka is the largest provider of IT services for companies in the transport and logistics sector. We develop functional software (systems and applications), mainly for railway companies and companies from the transport sector. Our portfolio includes systems supporting:
• Distribution of passenger information
• Handling of transport services
• Infrastructure management
• Enterprise management
We also render hosting and network services, services of computer equipment maintenance and structural networks construction. In 2013, PKP Informatyka acquired Kolejowe Zakłady Łączności Bydgoszcz. Owing to this transaction, the company will extend its offer with the creation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in for urban areas. KZŁ specialises in the implementation of dispatch communication and passenger information systems. It also develops solutions for public communication as well as offers ticket machines and parking meters together with complete systems.

We act as the manager of railway line no. 65 and perform freight transport on it. The activity of PKP LHS is concentrated in the south-east part of Poland and has a regional character. As a company, we offer comprehensive freight forwarding and logistics services based on the door to door principle as well as freight transportation without the need to reload it at the Ukrainian border and with the ability to pull heavy unit trains.
With its track gauge of 1,520 mm, railway line no. 65 is the longest broad-gauge line in Poland used for transporting goods. It was designed and built in the 1970s and was put into operation in 1979. It connects the Polish-Ukrainian railway border crossing Hrubieszów/Izow with Silesia, and precisely with Sławków in the Dąbrowski Basin, situated 25 km from Katowice. Line no. 65 runs through five voivoideships: Lubelskie, Podkarpackie, Świętokrzyskie, Małopolskie and Śląskie.
The railway line includes 10 stations, 13 passing loops and points for cargo handling: terminals, ramps and handling yards, warehouses, bonded warehouses and weighbridges.
We combine the function of operator and manager of railway line no. 250. We have been providing services of passenger transport in the Tricity metropolitan area continuously since 1951, running about 220 trains every day.
For several years, our company has implemented a project entitled “The Development of Municipal Fast Railway in Tricity,”
co-financed by European Union funds. The project covers the following undertakings:
• modernisation of the Gdynia Wzgórze Świętego Maksymiliana station,
• modernisation of the SKM platform at the Sopot station along with the reconstruction of the track system,
• modernisation of the Sopot Wyścigi station,
• modernisation of the Gdańsk Żabianka AWFiS station,
• modernisation of SKM platform at the Gdańsk Wrzeszcz station,
• modernisation of the Gdańsk Politechnika station,
• modernisation of rolling stock including 22 currently operated electric multiple units.
The “Natura Tour” Railway Tourism and Leisure Enterprise has operated on the Polish market since 2000. The company’s activity consists of organising tourist events and leisure, mainly in its own facilities. Currently, Natura Tour uses 19 holiday resorts located in attractive areas of Poland. It also organises holidays in third-party facilities – domestic and located abroad. Natura Tour directs its offer primarily to individual customers by organising, among others, holidays, weekend stays, camps for children and excursions. Our offer for companies includes the organisation of conferences, seminars and business events. Natura Tour is a member of the Polish Tourism Organisation and the Railway Employers’ Union.
The history of Drukarnia Kolejowa Kraków dates back to 1922. In the beginning, it operated under the name of Drukarnia Biletów Kolejowych. The company manufactured railway tickets, freight notes, business forms and other templates necessary for the operation of railway network.
Currently, it provides comprehensive printing services not only for customers associated with the railway. The company offers printing of informational and handling materials (such as calendars, timetables, manuals, brochures and catalogues), books and magazines.
The activity of the CS Szkolenie i Doradztwo company consists in rendering training services for the benefit of the PKP Group companies and other entities, primarily in the scope of professional training of railway employees. The company’s training centres are located in Warszawa, Kraków and Wrocław. The company owns the only professional locomotive simulator in Poland which allows to conduct training for train drivers.
